Overview

Puerto Natales is the gateway to the grandiose phenomena of Patagonia. On a guided tour you discover the highlights of the renowned Torres del Paine National Park. Turquoise lakes and jagged granite mountains, floating ice floes and grazing guanacos combine to create an incomparable scenery of Patagonia. On a boat trip, you cruise on the Fjord Última Esperanza to the glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano in the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park. A sporty day hike to the peaks of Las Torres gives you a sense of the wilderness, the force and beauty of Patagonia. On the Argentine side, the visit of the Moreno Glacier is considered by many travelers to be the crowning glory of their South America trip. From time to time, you hear a powerful cracking sound as parts of the glacier break into the water. And you get that special feeling of a certain tininess in relation to this mighty and seemingly carefree nature that embraces you here. Then you travel to Punta Arenas, one of the southernmost cities on earth. This is where the American continent ends. And that is how it feels. On a boat excursion, you sail on the windy Strait of Magellan to the abandoned Isla Magdalena. On the small island, thousands of penguins swarm around, brooding their eggs. There is a special aura that pervades this region, which you soak up here.
